Transition Through The Water
Mother has transitioned to another world.
The transition and funeral of a loved one is a mirror of
the emotions, tolls, and complexities of the current
atmosphere in the United States.
Both are also an element in the process of shifting from
a “solid state to slowly dissolving/crumbling apart” to be
transformed.
Coney Island, where all the images were made in camera,
is simply a theatrical set on which to transpose and
roundabout translate the idea of transition in question.
Combining the stark images and the more conventional
tone images visually implies that there is more than one
element involved. But they are intermingled in that respect,
and not rigidly separated.
These images are open to interpretation.
Having the images being open to interpretation
removes the interference of a “strict title”, and deepens
the transaction between the viewer and the image.
Thus, the image, or images, have gained an encumbered
and more favorable stand of being “alive”.
These images are a combination of Photography and Printmaking.
Each print is unique.
